After the London, Milan, and New York Fashion Weeks, the Paris Fashion Week 2016 is highly-anticipated by the luxury lovers worldwide. This fashion event hosts a series of catwalk shows staged by the best fashion designers and the best high-end fashion houses. Let’s take a look at thecrème de la crème of Paris 2016.
Lanvin
Lanvin’s in-house atelier present their first Fall/Winter ’16 collection since Alber Elbaz’s departure. Late Eighties shimmer sprinkled over Lanvin’s show with a familiar asymmetric fashion and a black patent mac brought a good dose of drama, even on the details like the elaborate chandelier earrings.
Dior
Buttoned up suits, pencil skirts, peplum and nip-waist jackets – the polished looks were tweaked with dropped-waist volume dresses or a splash of sparkling embroideries, a proudly Parisian mood. Dior poured creative juice into its accessories, loading up ladies with two, three or even four handbags slung over the shoulder at one time.
Elie Saab
Elie Saab sprinkled gypsy dust over his collection this season, transforming his usual high octane red carpet creations into intricate collages of lace, macramé, and Guipure trimmed in loads of bohemian fringe and velvet passementerie. Also, the final touch were lavish high heeled suede or leather booties showered in fringe.
Givenchi
Riccardo Tisci sent out a fierce and powerful collection of strong military shapes, animal skins and patterns (from snake to leopard and paisley) and Egyptian influences, albeit remixed with an eye on current Pop culture.
Balmain
Celebrating the natural beauty of each woman, Rousteing uses the niche craftsmanship technique to deliver a range that emphasizes shape and proportion. Baroque glitz with a predominately pastel collection built on a foundation of lace-up corsetry. That said, there were plenty of feminine ruffles and just a hint of Versailles-issue gold filigree thrown in for good measure.
